The Minister of Sports of Russia and President of the ROC Michael Degtyarev met with Barry Hendricks, President of the South African Sports Confederation, Olympic and Paralympic Committee, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
“I thanked my counterpart for his support of our Olympians and Paralympians,” Michael Degtyarev noted. “We always feel South Africa’s friendly shoulder on every platform when it comes to the restoration of our athletes.
The parties held negotiations and signed a memorandum of cooperation that provides for joint competitions and training sessions across various sports. These include football, chess, swimming, volleyball, gymnastics, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, karate, fencing, and others.
Barry Hendricks’s visit was organized with the support of the Africa Centrum.
