General Information
Based on part 6 of Article 11 and part 2 of Article 34.1 of Federal Law No. 329-FZ "On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation" dated December 4, 2007, and in accordance with its Charter, the All-Russian Union of Public Associations "Russian Olympic Committee" (hereinafter – ROC) provides the commission of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation with a document on the official position of the Russian Olympic Committee regarding the use of the word "Olympic" (or words and phrases derived from it) in the name of an organization providing sports training
To Applicant Organizations
The executive authority of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation or an organization carrying out sports training that plans to use the word "Olympic" or its derivatives in its name must send a letter to the ROC and applicant consent to the ROC email address (info@olympic.ru):
In addition to the documents specified in Orders No. 731 of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation dated September 17, 2025, "On the Procedure for the Use of the Words 'Olympic,' 'Paralympic,' 'Deaflympic,' or Words and Phrases Derived from These Words in Their Names by Organizations Implementing Supplemental Educational Sports Training Programs" and No. 732 of September 19, 2025, "On Approval of the Procedure for the Use of the Words 'Olympic,' 'Paralympic,' 'Deaflympic,' or Words and Phrases Derived from These Words in Their Names by Supplemental Education Organizations with the Special Designation 'Sports School,'" the applicant organization shall submit to the following documents to the OKR Society:
- Sports training programs for the relevant sports.
For Organizations in the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye, and Kherson Regions
Executive authorities and/or organizations that carry out sports training and plan to use the word “Olympic” or words and phrases derived from it in their names for the specified territories must send the following to the e-mail address of the OKR Sports and Recreation Center (info@olympic.ru):
- Sample letter to the ROC (new constituent entities of the Russian Federation)
- Sample consent letter (new constituent entities of the Russian Federation)
In addition to the documents specified in Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1320 dated August 10, 2023, "On the specific features of the use of the words 'Olympic,' 'Paralympic,' 'Deaflympic,' or words and phrases derived from them in the names of supplementary education organizations with the special name 'sports school' and organizations implementing supplementary educational sports training programs located in the territories of the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye Region, and Kherson Region," the applicant organization shall send to the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC):
- Sports training programs for relevant sports.
