About the Games

• The Games of the VII Olympiad were held shortly after the end of the First World War. Germany and its allies were not invited to take part in the competitions.
• In Antwerp, the Olympic flag with five interlaced rings — a symbol of the unity of the five continents — was raised for the first time.
• The Olympic Oath was also pronounced for the first time at the Opening Ceremony on behalf of all athletes.
